CARE

PALU LEATHER

Thank you for choosing a PALU piece. Each bag is handcrafted in New York by skilled artisans and engineered to stand the test of time — if treated with intention.

Leather is an organic, living material. It evolves, deepens, and grows more beautiful through wear.

PALU uses full-grain leather only — the top, untouched layer of the hide remains completely intact. This ensures maximum durability while preserving the natural character of the skin. Subtle wrinkles, veins, and pores are not imperfections; they are proof of authenticity and strength. No two PALU pieces will ever be exactly alike.

Over time, your bag will soften, develop sheen, and form a patina that is uniquely yours. Where your hand rests, where the light hits, where it moves through the world — its story will be written into the leather.

HARDWARE

PALU hardware is designed as a statement. Each component is crafted with silversmith precision and custom-engineered for the brand’s bold systems and signature constructions. The pieces are formed in solid brass, then finished with a thick, traditional metallic plating for longevity and impact.

Like the leather, the hardware will age — not fade — adding depth and character to your piece over time.

PRESERVE ITS PRESENCE

Leather is powerful, but it is still sensitive. Avoid prolonged exposure to:

  • Water

  • Excessive heat

  • Direct sunlight

  • Extreme humidity or dryness

If your bag comes into contact with water, gently pat it dry with a soft cloth. Never use heat or friction.

AVOID COMMON MISTAKES

Leather does not forgive excess.
Ink, lipstick, oil, fragrance, and cosmetics can leave permanent marks. Prolonged contact with raw, dark, or dyed textiles may transfer color onto lighter leathers.

Avoid overpacking. Distortion changes the architecture of the bag and cannot always be reversed.

Treat it as an object of design — not just a container.

LET IT REST

When not in use, allow your PALU piece to breathe. Store it in a cool, dry place, away from light, ideally inside its dust bag.

Avoid moisture-absorbing sachets or plastic wrapping. Leather prefers air, not confinement.

Rotation extends longevity.

TRUST THE ARTISANS

From restoring patina to repairing corners or replacing hardware, the only hands your PALU piece should trust are PALU hands.

Using unsuitable products or attempting self-repair may cause irreversible damage. If you have questions or concerns, contact PALU Aftercare. We will ensure your piece is handled according to the highest standards.

With the right care, your PALU bag will not only retain its beauty — it will develop a presence of its own.
